Ralph Breaks the Internet

On November 21, 2018, Ralph (voiced by John C. Reilly) and Vanellope Von Schweetz (Sarah Silverman) started a brand new adventure. After finding a Wi-Fi router in the arcade, Ralph and Vanellope venture into the internet to find a new steering wheel to fix Vanellope’s game and stop Mr.Litwak (the owner of the arcade) from pulling the plug on her game. They navigate through the World Wide Web with help from the citizens of the the internet, including Yesss, the head algorithm from the super popular, trendy site, BuzzzTube.

On RottenTomatoes.com, the popular movie rating and information site, it was given an 88 out of 100, which is a very good rating. Personally, I think it was an excellent movie. It appealed to a young audience because it had many real life references keeping the movie fresh and relatable. It made the audience feel like you were the one running through these dangerous, funny, and captivating websites and games. At some points, the humor was a little lacking, as the movie sometimes fell back to “potty-humor” and cringey Fortnite references, though. At least it kept the Fortnite references to a low.

In conclusion, I think Ralph Breaks the Internet was a fantastic movie for anyone. The frequent modern references can also attract older audiences who loved the original movie. Despite that, there is one thing that stops the movie from being the best this year. I believe Incredibles 2 was the best animated movie of the year. Wreck-It-Ralph had no chance of beating it. However, it did come close, which definitely shows how great of a movie it was.
